Dunno of any guides. IIRC, the tricky thing was making sure that the FCB sends the correct control parameter (you need to set it for each CC on every stinking patch). You need to ensure that the FCB is sending the right parameter number for the rack unit's patch.

I had similar problems programming my FCB. I emailed Behringer support and they sent 3-4 .pdf files with tips on recalibration and how to configure the unit. I don't have the files now, but it maybe worth contacting Behringer to see if they can send them to you.
Also, as Aleclee said, it's very much a two-way process midi programming. You need to know what to send out of the FCB for it to 'talk' to the G major. Your G Major manual should have a midi implementation list in it which will have a control no. against a certain function. Ultimately, depending on how you are going to use the FCB, you assign the FCB a control no. to one of it's footswitches (and a value for some parameters) and that implements the action in the G Major.
I know that hasn't helped much, but once you get your head round it, it does become easier...I think.

yea that's what i joined and i did read quite a few, i did a search for the g major to try and find more direct to what i need. the buttons worked right off, but i gotta figure out how to do the rest still. The fcb manual suckedddd.
edit- i think i may be in luck i just looked at the actual files they have... yummy
