Funny thing you said because I was looking at their website just a minute before. Looks like good amps. You have one?

Re: Fender 57 Deluxe

a victoria? no, ive played a few of them but im much more of a diy type guy and im really picky so if i bought a vic id have to massage it to get it where i want it and that seems silly when you pay that price.

im a huge fan of the tweed fender sound though and victoria makes some of the best sounding tweed fender style amps ive ever tried.

What does it take to put amp kit together? If u know how to solder and little basic electronics can you do it yourself?

Re: Fender 57 Deluxe

I was going to wait a couple of weeks to post this, but The tax man beat the crap out of me this year, and I'm afraid I have to sell my Celtic Aislinn to try and shore up my bank account. It's got the top of the line Weber Alnico speaker and mercury magnetics output tranformer. The amp is as good as a Victoria, Mission, or Clark, and blows a Fender tweed Del. out of the water! I'm selling it for $850.00 including shipping to anywhere in the lower 48 states. I regret having to sell it, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to. Any one here can tell you how great Scott's amps are, and I don't believe he's building them right now at this point! either pm me or post here if interested. In a couple of weeks it will go on ebay, and I'd rather keep it in the family(this forum).

I know of Celtic amps. They do build them good. Is that the 6v6 or 6l6 version? 1x12?

Re: Fender 57 Deluxe

The Fender is overpriced and under built IMHO...I have a Tweed Super clone from Mission Amps...Mission is IMO the last word in well made Tweed Clones (not to mention several other amps!!!!). The Viockys are nice but are also overpriced IMO...

Re: Fender 57 Deluxe

It's the 6V6 version with a Weber 12A125-S speaker. It is a tweed deluxe in every sense of the word. I did a show with Derek Trucks about a year ago, and he was blown away with the sound. I've played in front of 8,000 people with it,(it was mic'ed of course) but it came through like gangbusters! It's 12- 15 watts, depending on who you believe. It gets pretty loud, is very touch sensitive, and has that "mojo" a good tweed amp should have!
