hey guys, im interested in the 59 bassman reissue that fender has, i guess either the original one of that new "LTD" one or whatever. anyways, im just wondering how loud these things can get before they start to breakup?
They're a 40 watt amp. They'll get pretty loud. You probably know this but the Marshall JTM 45 circuit was copied from and is almost identical to the '59 Bassman.
Personally, I like the sparkly clean tones of the Bassman better than it's crunchy cranked tones...but if you crank it up ( and maybe goose it with a nice overdrive like a TS-9 or DS-1 ) those amps will sing as beautifully as most Marshalls.
i dont want it to break up.........i want that clean sound mostly.....and maybe a little bit of hair for rockabilly type stuff.......... so is the clean a loud clean? ive played this amp and i loved the sound, but i never truly turned it up

Umm..yea. They are amazing amps...my favorite fenders....But I've been through three ltd's, and all of them have had problems straight out of the factory...although I bought them from GC, and they were all flor models because GC only gets one of 'em
