Fender 68 custom twin reverb

Re: Fender 68 custom twin reverb

cant wait to see those pics of the 2 twins you get:)!!

sure gunna try, I have amps I'm not using and the Custom 68 twin sounds so good I'm riding my self of all the others except for my blues jr3. I still love that little amp. Its as sparkly as the twin and its portable enough for vacation to a beach house.
one of my girlfriends came over yesterday-she has a pretty voice so I was playing a few tunes wile she sang along. she was saying.......that sounds just like the song.......I just lauphed and said its because so many songs have been recorded on a strat with some kind of fender amp and then I played her the little break in "Hot for Teacher" and she started lauphing I said see what I mean? Its just a knock out tone thats everywhere on recordings.

Ken361 hope to use the strymon ElCapistan between them in stereo along with the Flint. Pete Thorn has a cool Demo of the ElCapistan where I got the idea from. Honestly when I heard it I thought of my old Mesa Boogie rack mounted Tri Axis unit with the stereo 90/90 power amp. I had 2-2/12 cabs that I used to ping pong effects back and forth with a rack mounted processor. The clean tones were awesome this way. I still have everything but I love these new Twin heads so that's my clean tone now. I am keeping my 2-2/12 vintage 30's cabs to run with my EVH 3- 50 watt head which is a monster tone all by itself. The only thing I may add is 2 Mojo Cabs each loaded with a single 15 eminence speaker to go under the Twin to complement the bassman jazz circuit side of each Twin.

anyway that's what I am hoping to do. guess we"ll see if I can pull this all off. Meh...here I go.

Re: Fender 68 custom twin reverb

I would get the bogner red or a Suhr red pedal reloaded for EVH tones you may just like it better! When I played the 50 watt EVH combo it sounded kind of thin and not much low end compared to my old Blues deluxe and the Bogners! Now I have the twin im sure it rules over it, big beefy tone. I liked the 100 watt half stack though. There very similar to bogner

Re: Fender 68 custom twin reverb

interesting idea for sure. I have the EVH head now. with 4 vintage 30's its a big tone. gunna half to check out the Bogner pedals. I loved the anniversary shiva. I thought that thing with the kt88's sounded wonderful.

Re: Fender 68 custom twin reverb

EVH picking attack is a little bit more but I really dig the blue/red pedals and he's got a new gold pedal coming this summer called La grange like ZZ top its a hot rodded plexi tones

I definitely am gunna check that gold pedal out. I love the old plexi tones. I was just watching the old movie Crossroads with Steve Via as "Jack Butler"-the devils guitar player. I forgot how wonderful Ry Cooder's guitar work is in that movie. He uses a lot of tremolo and reverb and a distortion box on some of those tracks. I am thinking the Bogner gold with the Twin would sound awesome for blues slide tones. I may have just found tonal nirvana. I hope that gold pedal can capture that tone through the twin with its tremolo and reverb. What a big wall of sound that would be!

The blue is plexish too

Re: Fender 68 custom twin reverb

Thanks for the heads up on the Bogner Gold. I'll be grabbing that to add to my blue, red, black collection. I love these pedals. They're some of the only pedals I've tried that truly sound like you've added a channel to your amp, not just a transistor gain sound.

Bogner pedals were specifically designed to work with an all tube clean tone, which is why this subject even came up in a Fender Twin Reverb thread.
