Hi.
I have just gotten a tele pro II
I am going to install a 4 conductor humbucker in the neck.
The question : Anybody know how I should wire it to get the single neck (coil tapped neck) with bridge in series on the push push?

What make and model humbucker did you get?

When you say bridge in series, do you mean the bridge humbucker has coils in series, or are you saying you will have the bridge humbucker in series with the single coil of the neck humbucker?

Hi.

Its a dimarzio mini humbucker pickup.
(looks like a firebird pickup)

Yes I mean neck single (coil-spltted) with the bridge.

The stock wiring is that the push push engages the neck and bridge to series, (in middle postition) instead of the normal parallell.

...so what I want when it is engaged in the middle position, is that the neck pickup coilsplits, and becomes a single with the bridge pickup in series.

I dont want a splitted neck on its own though, only in the middle position when the "series" mode is engaged with the push push.

Just so you know, if you mix a split humbucker with a regular humbucker, you'll get hum/noise.

DiMarzio colors are red = hot, white+black is the series link and green is ground.

You would need a second switch to split the DiMarzio. It won't work like you want because I'm certain the push-push is using all 6 lugs to change the two pickups to series.

Ok.
Then I guess I will just wire it like it is now.
So the neck humbucker and bridge becomes series.
...The neck split + bridge single in series, is an option on an Ibanez AZ tele like guitar. (I liked that sound) Probably a different kind of switch....

A normal p/p can't do both split neck and in series with the bridge pup. There are mini toggle switches that could that but it would mean drilling a hole for it.

Just add another p/p to do the split so you'll have that option available when you want it.

ok. I see.
probably just gonna wire it like it is now.
The humbucker is only about 6.2 kohm, so it isnt very different from how it is now.
....it is kind of "dark" though, even with just the singles in series......
