My first real good amp was a 74 Super...I loved that amp. It had really bad speakers when I got it b ut I fixed that asap, and it was a killer after that!

Yeah. I put Weber P10Q 30 watters in mine. I like them better than Weber's regular P10Q's. More bass and fuller smoother tone. Never got on with those stock CTS 10's in Supers....to bright...to edgey and crisp. They hurt my ears. Lew

Haha, Lew, i dont HAVE 1000 bucks yet, id have to sell my current amp, 2 extra guitars, and do a little work in the next 2 weeks or so to get 1000. If your not in a huge hurry to sell that 74', i could start selling my crap and working and have the money in the next 2-4 weeks, how much are you selling it for???

and thanks alot Chris, i cant check out the clip yet, cuz im at my dads, meaning no player to listen to it on. And Single COils are fine, infact thats alll i need.

Thanks all!

Did you like the clips at all? I think they'll give you a good idea of how Fenders typically sound, both naturally and with the push of a good transparent overdrive (my Pro Analog Dual Drive being the example here).

Ya, i just got a chance to listen to the blues lead. If thats how most good fenders sound, then thats exactly what i was looking for. :)

Ur a good player BTW.

Thanks Chris!

Based on what you said wattage wise you are looking for. The Deluxe Vibrolux, or the Super would be the best bet. The Deluxe IMO is one of the best Amps for small Gigs and Blues I have ever heard. Today the way PA's are used you can even use this for large Gigs (Miked). With a good OD pedal this Amp smokes as well. The Super will have a considerable amount more bottom due to the 4 10" speakers vrs the 1 12". I have a '69 Super Reverb. I believe this was either the first or second year of the SF. It is a great Amp and I could never consider letting it go. It does exactly what I want it to do. I play a LP, 335, and Teles and Strats thru this Amp, they all sound really good. I am also looking for a Deluxe. It is smaller and has a lot more portability than the SR does. I need it for rehearsals and small Gigs. Either way would be good!

Glad you enjoyed the amp :)

I'm a pretty bad player, but thank you for the compliment anyways :D. I've really only found this kind of lead tone on more expensive amps like some of Two Rocks stuff (the Onyx and Custom Reverb come to mind).

Vibrolux amps are great for that sweet singing type tone. Deluxes are good amps that break up quickly as well. You really can't go wrong with a good 'ole fashioned Fender and there are always techs around that can do mods for you (PTP amps are pretty easy to work on).
