Fender Amps???

Re: Fender Amps???

You know, if its me?..............................I wouldnt go buy some Fender amp. If your a crunchy chord guy you will just get bored easy. I did the same thing for years. What helped me out of the rut was I picked a few songs that I really liked and decided to learn to play them so I created a purpose. (Like Sultans of Swing) Then I actually needed and used the cleans on my Fender amps. If you dont ever use a good clean tone then the amp will just sit there till you sell it. I would even check out a few cool old classics like "Hey Joe" and "Texas Flood". cool stuff and people really dig it.

I dont play cleans alot , so not rushing out to get one. My Splawn has a pretty good clean. Just wondering what the draw was..

Re: Fender Amps???

i seldom play clean, but im also not a high gain guy. fenders work well for me. a tweed deluxe gives one of the best rock n roll tones youll ever find at a very reasonable volume. a brown deluxe is a better marshall than anything marshall put out with less power than a jtm45. the bf/sf fenders are more scooped but if you roll the volume up it sounds great. they may not be the best metal amps but there are plenty of other things they do well if you have the right one for the application

Re: Fender Amps???

Ill be honest, I played other companies clean tones with combo's and wile some sounded good, like Mesa Boogie or Paul Reed Smith-I really liked the Fender clean tones. I even tried different amps with different tubes but in the end, I just liked the Fender clean tones and it started to bug me. I checked out the Pro Players live stuff on YouTube and decided to use a A/B amp system so I could use the Fender cleans but use what ever I wanted for distortion. There is also the Fender clean amp niche of adding some blues or distortion pedal to get a certain "driven clean" tone setting that a lot of players seem to love. What I like about Fenders is that they are cheap and have many wattage and tube options so it seems they have really cornered the market on excellent clean sounds at moderate club beater prices.
