Old 4x10 Bassman tweeds are awesome amps.
Is the Bandmaster from the same period not almostthe same, except for the three 10's instead of four??
Rid,
I think the circuits are different ... maybe regarding the cathode bias?
Lew probably knows - I looked on Victoria's site, but couldn't find the definitions.

anyway, the tweed Pro (1-15), Super (2-10), and Bandmaster(3-10) are the same circuit basically, with different speaker configurations. But that's enough to give the amps distinctive characters.

Thanks Curly:)
Waits until Lew sees this.
I have a friend who has an old 57 Bandmaster with three tens.
Very crunchy amp, sounds more like an old Marshall in many respects.

well, I've been waiting for Lew's brother to get his 3-10 Bandmaster kit!

I think they're a great size -35 watts, so you can get 'em good and cranked!

I'm pretty sure the output impedence of the 4 x 10 Bassman's output tranny would be for a 2 ohm speaker load and the output impedence of the 3 x 10 Bandmaster designed for a 2.6 ohm load. But I don't know that for certain! Lew

Re: Fender Bassman 59 Limited ?

I own an original '59 Bandmaster. I do know it's a whole 'nuther animal from a Bassman, way less headroom. My tech told me the trannie was 4 ohms when I had it in last summer for a cap job, same as the Super. I dunno for sure, but he's THE vintage Fender man here around Charlotte. The reason I asked was because I'd been using JBL K110s and the top speaker wouldn't fit in so I had to use an extension cab and I wanted to know if it would be ok to run it with two 10s. He said yes, but it would sound a little different. I ended up having my original 3 Jensen P10Rs reconed, that's what's in it now.

Bassman = awesome. Mine's a 1968 head and it's really all I could ask for in an amp, 'cept for the lack of MID control.

Re: Fender Bassman 59 Limited ?

Awesome amp I played a new american strat ssh thru one at the local guitar center loved the bassman but think the new strat switching system is overrated.....
