Fender Electric XII model. Some stupid questions

Hello gentlemen!
I have one stupid question about vintage Fender Electric XII model. http://www.ggjaguar.com/e-12.htm

Nowadays this guitar cost a lot, about 3000$. But some guys told me, that it is possible to find this rare bird for more reasonable price - about 1500$. According to them, this depends mostly on condition.

I live outside the US, so I cannot scrutiny American guitar market thoroughly.
Is it possible to find this guitar for some reasonable price? I don't need a 'collector piece', I just need an instrument itself, so I don't care whether it has original case or tuners or 'as new' finish. Just give me a hint, where to look for it?

Im not saying they they are not out ther but I have never seen an Electric XII for much less than 3k even in fairly poor condition, those guitars go as high as 5k and even higher.
