Fender Fidelitron help

I have aquired a Fidelitron pickup but i lack a multimeter and i cannot for the life of me figure out which wire is which. It has red,white and bare ground. Can you tell me which is live and which is shield?

The bare & white wires get twisted/soldered together then go to ground, & obviously the the red wire is your hot lead...
