Fender FM212R

just got my hands on one of these and was suprisingly suprised at the tone i could get outta it,

i normally run through a Mesa Single Rec and play Easycore in drop C, started messing around with the Fender and couldnt believe how chucky and beefy i could get the distortion, if im perfectly honest i thought it even rivaled the Mesa's tone, the clarity wasnt as good and the presence of the Mesa was much better but just the over all tone coming out of the fender blew me away

I didnt think it was possible to get such a perfect distortion outta a fairly low end SS combo, i also got a Line 6 Flextone III and couldnt get a sound even close to the Fender.

This thread doesnt really have a point but i just thought i express my new found love for this amp :)

Re: Fender FM212R

You have a Mesa Single Rec?

...Whereabouts in Ireland did you say you were?

Re: Fender FM212R

Meh. That's too far away from me right now. I'll steal your amp some other time.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new Fender. :beerchug:

Re: Fender FM212R

lol dont get me wrong i love the fender, but nothing can beat the Mesa ;) im actually selling the fender, got it in a trade with the intent to sell on

Re: Fender FM212R

I've got the head version of that Fender. Pretty darn good for the price. I bought it for a backup, and to run modelers through, but it's really not too shabby on its own.

Do you find that the volume is really touchy, like you barely crack it open, and it's loud?

Whats your settings? I have the 65r and I can't get anything useful out of the second channel.

Re: Fender FM212R

yea volumes rather touchy, go from like 3 to 4 and there's a huge difference, i like my amps loud though ;)

defo a recommened buy, for the price this thing is amazing, its insanely loud and sounds delish

em, off the top of my head i think its something like this,

T - 7
M - 2
B - 5ish, maybe a bit lower
D - 4

i leave the mid contour off cause it make the tone really muddy i think

I'm playing in drop C with SD Invaders and playing Hardcore/Pop Punk and the tone i get is a real raw saturated chug but still with a good high end for fiddly bits and solos ;) hope this helps :D
