Fender FSR '72 Telecaster Deluxe

Re: Fender FSR '72 Telecaster Deluxe

At least these don't have that stupid F hole. I never liked the pickguard on those either. There should be 1 volume and 1 tone control and the 3 way switch should be down by controls also.
Other than that, nice guitar.

Those metal flake paint jobs are sick! And I don't mean good sick, I mean ill sick.

Re: Fender FSR '72 Telecaster Deluxe

Without the big guard and CBS Strat head they are not 72 reissues...

I just wish they'd do something about those terrible new Wide Range buckers...

Re: Fender FSR '72 Telecaster Deluxe

I'd take the blue one. I don't mind the headstock or pickguard, I've been into the whole "deluxe/custom" thing for a while and have really gotten used to that combo and that look.

I'd rock that. I'd so rock that.

Re: Fender FSR '72 Telecaster Deluxe

Only aesthetic prob i have with those are the witch hats. I love those 72 models.

Black pickguards would be a nice look too.

Re: Fender FSR '72 Telecaster Deluxe

I think the guitar is cool, but I really don't like buckers in Teles. I have a Tele with a Firebird mini hum paired with a custom A5 bridge that sounds awesome!

LOVE the big guard and CBS Strat hs. Things I'd change:

1. Those pups blow. I've never had the pleasure of playing the originals, but those are garbage. You know what weirdo Fender pups actually own pretty hard? Those monstrous things out of the Lead 1 and 3. A set of those with all the switching would be teh bomb-diggety, son.

2. 22 frets. FFS...

These buckers are just overwound buckers under cool cans but the real Wide Range buckers have a VERY cool sound...very Fender like!

Saw them today, beautiful finishes! I would love one with a rosewood board

My current main player is a pine/maple neck tele and it kills with a similar combo.
Nickel C5/mini hum.

I just played all three colors of that 72 Reissue yesterday, and was feelin the orange one the most. The necks aren't bad, and I know they could be US quality if they were rolled on the edges with polished fret ends. That's usually the main thing lacking on MIM or MIC necks.

If I owned one of those models, I'd put a black pickguard on it, because I like black guards against sparkle finishes.
