Fender (G&G) deluxe hardshell cases...anyone?

I'm contemplating getting one of the fender (made by G&G) deluxe hardshell cases in black and red or black and orange for one of my new project guitars and i just wanted to ask about the quality and strength of the cases. i'm real picky with my cases and don't mind spending the cash for a good safe and strong case. the flight cases and hard cases i own now i wouldn't heasitate throwing down a flight of stairs with my #1 guitar in it b/c i know it won't do a thing to the case or guitar, i can sit on them step on them and they can fall out of the back of the SUV with no problems. can these G&G fender cases take some good abuse or should i stick with my typical flight cases? i need an honest review here with no fluff...will it take a good beating?

and no i don't do this stuff on purpose to my guitars and cases nor do i plan on doing it but it's just stuff that has happened in the past...people sitting on cases, dropping them, falling out of the truck while unloading etc etc so i rather be safe than sorry with a $130 pretty looking case that won't keep my guitar safe.

Mike....The fender vintage cases are great,durable,and they make any guitar look cooler once you open the case up....The word "abuse" scares me though,so I'd stick with the flight cases in your situation...I think you already pretty much answered your own question...The regular cases are great for the guy that takes his guitar "carefully" to a gig,practice,or just stores his guitar in the case at home and isn't over zealous with the case....Plus those Fender cases are like $130 and up... :smack:

thanks for the honest review...the price doesn't bother me, my last case was $150 for the twistedcaster (in avatar) and it's a tank of an all aluminum case. i just like to be extra safe. i myself am real real careful with my stuff and overly anal but i have had a friend (non guitarist) sit on my case before thinking it was ok (he got smacked and yelled at lol) and have had my drummer knock one of my cases out of the truck while moving his stuff out...the cases and guitars were both 100% fine both times. while it's rare that this happens, i rather be safe than sorry. i just think my new tele i built would look killer in one of those cases. i guess i'll have to think it over a bit more. i have an itch to buy one...i just don't want to spend $130 on a cheaply made overpriced case. would you say that the case would take a drop/slide off from the back of a typical SUV and keep the guitar safe? that's my big fear since it has happened before. i don't plan on it happening but you never know.

G&G, is the best case manufacture in my book. They take a beating well, and can be rebuilt if needed. Leo Fender, insisted on G&G cases while he was at the helm of G&L guitars. All G&L's built from 1980 to 1991 came in G&G cases.
