The guy is moving and has to sell it by tomarrow, he tried to sell it on bay but couldn't.The thing is that i really dont need an amp but he would probably sell it for $300.00. Re: Fender Hot Rod Deluxe

Decent clean tones...distortion kinda blows. Very midrangy & compressed...everytime someone brings one in to record it sounds "small".

Not a bad gigging amp with a solid dirt box in front.

At $300 you'd probably make a couple bucks reselling if you don't dig it...

Geez...I might even grab one at $300 just 'cause I don't really have a 'small' amp anymore... 2x12 combos abound!

Re: Fender Hot Rod Deluxe

$300 is a good deal.

Gearjoneser and I have both said this about the HRD: the gain channels only suck if you crank them. The best way to set the gain is: clean, a bit dirty, and a bit dirtier. If you want more gain, use pedals (which this amp enjoys btw.). The clean tone is really nice, and the gain is good too if you keep it at a reasonable level.

If you're willing to invest in a tube and speaker change, you can really turn the HRD into a great-sounding and versatile combo.

$300 for a HRD is a pretty good deal.:D I own/have access to a 1/2 dozen vintage amps. Most gigs I use my HRD instead. Not that it sounds better,But more so it sounds good and is some what expendable.

$300.00 seems like a good deal to me. Wish I could get one for that amount of coin.

Good luck with it.

+1

i love the clean and it takes to pedals well. The overdrive is good but you have to keep it low, around 3 or 4 on the gain knob.
