Fender Hot Rod Deville

25's Nemesis
Who here has used one and what do you think of it? I'm talking specifically about the 4x10" version. This amp will be played primarily clean and with light OD. Thanks a lot for the info. :burnout:

Re: Fender Hot Rod Deville

well, it sounds really clean, haha. Typical fendery kinda clean, but definately less boomy than the 2x12

for light distortion the in-amp works fine. Not GREAT, but you can get by on it

Re: Fender Hot Rod Deville

The cleans are great, and the OD channels work best if you use them as a slight volume and gain boost, as if they're OD pedals. Some guys make the mistake of thinking the amp can be used for highgain and keep the gains high and volume low.
Sounds like a rats nest, then.

Re: Fender Hot Rod Deville

ditto on the great cleans. i really liked the one i played, and that sucker was LOUD. the OD sounds ok, but since you're only looking for light OD, should be just fine.

Re: Fender Hot Rod Deville

i know pro players who swear by crate, so i mean, its all subjective

you might wanna also check out the traynor ycv80q.

pretty close to being the same, except no distortion, but ds-1's are only like $40

Re: Fender Hot Rod Deville

nah, i play a deluxe, and i've never used a treble booster, hot rods don't seem to have any problems being trebly, except at low volumes

and I've never been in a signed band, that requires touring, and every band i've been in has consisted of people who can't tour

Re: Fender Hot Rod Deville

i have a Blues Deville 410. sounds great clean, and the overdrive is good for a classic rock sound. a STRATDELUXER modded DS-1 makes this amp a real threat to a marshall jcm 800.

Likea Pepsi but without the mailboxes getting in the way. Really, like 2004 trying to be like 1978 but without brains or balls. No, more like wannabe's that should be drafted as soon as they hit 18 years old :)

What exactly is your problem?

Given the fact that this is an online community, you should expect to deal with people of all ages, all knowledge levels, and of all skill levels. I decided to look at all of your 18 posts, and frankly you come off as a serious @sshole in every single one.

Chill out...

Oh, goody, Sherlock, the chase is afoot. Sad people don't have more to do than look up people's past posts.

That was a joke right? A great one indeed, soo funny. It's like that joke in "Dumb and Dumber" where them two dudes make a bet on not making bets for the rest of the day. "Sad people don't have more to do than look up people's past posts." well that makes everybody here in the forum a "sad" person. And please note that you are one of them, since you looked up people's past posts. HAHAHA!!!

Really funny.

Thanks,

B

Dumb and Dumber... good call.
One of the things I've liked about this forum is the lack of juvenile flame wars. No need to get one rolling with this obvious sh!t stirrer. Eventually other people will call him on his attitude, and he'll either leave, or realize some humility.

Re: Fender Hot Rod Deville

benjy, i think you're done getting decent replies, and this thread is now embarassing, so i think you should delete it
