fender jaguar hh/ pickup & wiring

Hello, looked through the forum the last few days but couldn't find exactly what I'm looking for so here is my first post.

I just bought a fender jaguar special hh MIJ with dragster Humbuckers and decided I need to upgrade to some duncans.

I have an idea what I want to put in but maybe somebody has an advice for something that works well in this guitar. But more than that I need help with the wiring. I want a single coil option, maybe with a blend function with the upper tone blend. p-rail is also interesting but I don't know if I want more switches. Somewhere I read the pot is are 1Meq do I have to change these?

the music I play: mostly rock with the full range from clean, crunch to heavy distortion. Something like Radiohead and indierock stuff on the cleaner side and post rock and stoner rock like QOTSA, Neurosis on the heavy side.

The jaguar itself sounds balanced but not bright with a lot of attack and has rosewood fingerboard and an alder body.
I want more sustain, a more solid bass and a brighter sound with more gain. More of a fender sound. The dragster are very quiet.
I consider a costum costum, costum5, distortion for the bridge and a jazz or jb for the neck.
I also consider a phat cat or p-rail.

What would fit best and which sounds nice as a single coil? What would be the best wiring?

I hope you can help me to improve this guitar, thanks.

Welcome to the forum.

The resident HH Jaguar fiend on this forum is Astrozombie. His endless modifications to his example of this guitar model should provide some clues.

Thank you I hope, I'll get some first hand advice.

Also I like to keep the chrome look of the guitar and not all pus are available in a covered version. Are there standard pu covers that doesn't change the tone?

Nobody has an opinion?

For the bridge, I think I go for a distortion. But will I get sweet cleans from it? But most stuff I play with the bridge is crunch or distorted anyway.

For the neck I can't decide for a jazz with single coil option or p-rail?
who do the p-rail options sound compared to other pickups?
