Fender Jazz Bass Upgrade

Recently I upgraded my Passive Fender Jazz Bass with the Fender Pre-amp as used in the deluxe version of the bass, leaving the original pickups in it. I now find it very noisy. I latter replaced the bridge pickup with a Seymour Duncan SJB-3b Qtr Pound Jazz Bass Pickup even noisier. What pickups do you recommend I use.:smack:

Thanx Guys

Not trying to be rude but if it was me I'd remove the Fender preamp and go back to passive. Those pre's have never been known to be all that great sounding and noise is a problem. If you need more output you might want to throw some Basslines "Hot" pickups in there. They are much like vintage pickups but with more output and punch.

Welcome to the forum. I aggree with the passive vs. active argument. If you are going to keep your bass active though, I'd suggest a pair of Classic Stacks for Jazz bass.

If you want to go humbucking, Robert nailed it.

if you don't mind single coil hum, I'm partial to the Quarter Pound for Jazz bass set.
