Fender Kingman Acoustic!

So I picked up the new Guitar Player today, and there was a review of the Fender Kingman and Malibu acoustics. The kingman got an excellent review and considering it's $550 street for a solid back and top acoustic, with Fender/Fishman electronics, I'd say it seems like a pretty good value. The review noted that the guitar was well built and that it has a V-shaped neck. The Strat headstock also looks pretty cool. The Malibu, which is the same price, got a less impressive review.

I was wondering who here owns one or has tried one and if they think the Kingman is worth the coin. I have a $140CDN acoustic I bought from a pawn shape that's all laminate wood so something cheap with solid top and back and electronics, plus a easy to play neck and strat headstock definately grabs my attention. Anyone here think they are worth trying out/buying?

Re: Fender Kingman Acoustic!

...as much as I like Fender, and as GORGEOUS as the King/Malibus are... (especially the old bolt necks...)

I've never played a good one, lol.

And if it has a V neck I'll hate it. But every Fender acoustic I've ever played, regardless of price, has thoroughly not impressed me. I've played Squiers better actually.
