Fender Libras sound...

Amazing :D

100 watts solid state... and enough headroom that I couldn't get the damn thing to distort throughout :laugh2: though it's loud enough on 1 or 2... And keep in mind I was only using it through 2 speakers (limitations of my cab). Probably only a little less loud than the 100 watt Fender tonemaster.

It definitely has the bright, hifi, state of solidity sound (especially with the bright switch on), but with that off and the EQ tweaked it really warms up and gives AMAZING cleans, but with plenty of percussiveness that I like, everything really sounds warm and tubular.

The Jag sounds amazing through it... like a Jag should. I couldn't test out the distortion quality on it, because I don't have any guitars that can push it to distortion :laugh2: (and the closes I could get to that was with the amp on 10 and... the neighbors didn't like that much. The quarter mile away neighbors) don't want to report on it til I get a decent pedal.

Also couldn't try out the vibrato or reverb, as I'll need to short out the RCA jacks on the back...

Fender should reissue these :D (btw, I played it through the stereo input of an unidentified Mesa 4x12 stack...) I gotta figure out what speakers were in it, cause it sounded great

Re: Fender Libras sound...

Hmmmmmm.....interesting. I hate SS cleans but I love SS distortion for some reason :smack:

Well some SS distortion.

Re: Fender Libras sound...

I really enjoy reading your threads about this amp. I'm the type that gets way more GAS for amps than for axes.

The pic is great. Nice axes, bro.

BTW, were you looking for grille cloth for this amp a while back? Any luck?

Soon, the Dangly Libra will be as famous as the Cuba Libra

Thanks for taking the time to update us.

Re: Fender Libras sound...

hehe, thanks yo :D

you know... after a lot of work, I think I've found my signature sound :)

Libra prices will skyrocket when I'm done :D

never did find a grille cloth I liked... I'm fine with a few holes.

4 volume knobs would be VERY impressive on your Libra

Re: Fender Libras sound...

...these are what I've got an order for it I'm afraid :D

like Bronco knobs... (which it originally had) but without the F in the middle, and they only go from 0-9... but hell

thanks for the offer though... if I ever get 4.3 strats I might hit you up, but that seems unlikely :laugh2:
