Fender Pawn Shop Series

Re: Fender Pawn Shop Series

Hipsters will jump at these.

They really look interesting though. A semi-hollow Strat...

Re: Fender Pawn Shop Series

When will Fender get around to remarketing the Lead series? The Lead I had one ugly humbucker. The Lead II had two single coils. IMO, the time is ripe to issue the Lead 11/2. Bridge HB, neck SC.

Another thing. The '51 has been a budget model Squier. It is currently a mid price model Fender. How long before it becomes a Custom Shop Masterbuilt Signature model for I6? :D

Cool it, LHS. Just flip the guitar over, have a new nut cut and restring.

Re: Fender Pawn Shop Series

Why does this not remind me of the mustang body shape?

Great. means you can take out those Fender humbuckers and put some duncan trembuckers in there.

I can almost feel the money for the JB coming out of my bank account, its so bizarre!

Blue by the way. CAR was never a mustang colour, although im tempted to pick up the red one for just that reason.

Re: Fender Pawn Shop Series

I love the neck specs - the U shaped neck, the flatter 9.5 radius and medium jumbo frets is something I want to see on more Fenders. Big plus for this series.

They seem kinda cool . . . I'm still holding out for a Jazzmaster with a Floyd though. . .

you may be kidding but that's on my to do list!

Jazzmaster+Floyd+bridge humbucker = :headbang:

Re: Fender Pawn Shop Series

you guys know what this shape reminds me of?

this, much more than this:

This is like Fender apologizing for the lack of a blacktop mustang.

Re: Fender Pawn Shop Series

how hard do you guys think it would have been to fender to put the vibrato on these? :(

I don't know what shade of red it was, but my first electric was a mid to late 60's Mustang that was definitely red.

We used to use colors to describe objects, now we describe colors using objects. It's a grey car, not stone.

Re: Fender Pawn Shop Series

HOLYCRAP!!! That Mustang is AMAZING! I WILL have one. I WILL, I WILL, I WILL!!!!

Jesus****ingtitieschrist these are incredible...

Re: Fender Pawn Shop Series

Ok, it still hasn't been called off as a joke, so I can officially say....WANT!

Re: Fender Pawn Shop Series

A company couldn't put a product that actually MAKES SENSE along with a pricing on its website as a joke.

However it's a great way to release these on April's fools day as people will buzz around it and keep on wondering whether it's real or not. I'm going with it's real, and all those who were frantic about it being a joke or not played right into the marketing (nothing wrong with it, those are pretty cool guitars!).

Re: Fender Pawn Shop Series

They should come with specially filtered glasses so it always looks like you're seeing the guitar in a grainy 1970's Polaroid.

I know man, I was P***ed off and tired, lol

i might do tbh, I'm sick of waiting round for a left handed fender mustang so might as well get the righty and flip it upside down

Re: Fender Pawn Shop Series

Actually, AZ is correct. The lower bout of the new model has taken on a Jazzmaster/Jaguar slant and the waist is more offset than a vintage 'Stang. Sheesh. It's almost as if Fender decided to do a Jag-Stang properly the second time around.

Re: Fender Pawn Shop Series

'51 is my Fender. I seriously have G.A.S. after such a long passive period...

Grabbing the Squier elder brother was like meeting an old friend you haven't known. A brand new tool perfectly matching your hand, seamlessly integrating into your workflow. Finding a lost piece of memories. It has everything I like in Strats and nothing I don't. So many good songs in it...

that? dakota red.

not candy apple

Re: Fender Pawn Shop Series

I'll wait to see if they release it with a maple fretboard.

You know. I don't think that I have ever seen a Fender Mustang with a fingerboard of any material other than rosewood.
