hello everyone at a local guitar store ive been thinking about purchasing this silver face 1x10 fender princeton reverb....well i thought it was a reverb until it said export on it...its only 500 dollars but the guy sent it off to get it fixed because the amp wouldnt turn on

anyways what is a fender princeton reverb export?

i cant find any info on this nor is it on ebay

thanks...

Re: Fender Princeton Export HELP!

Export usually means that it has a power transformer designed for 220 volts in addition to (instead of?) normal U.S. 120 volt power.

Does it have any sort of switch on the back that says 120/240 volts, or something like that?

Re: Fender Princeton Export HELP!

im not sure the amp sent off to get fixed

so what does this mean? will it sound different than an american one or what?

Re: Fender Princeton Export HELP!

No difference in the amp's design or sound - it just means it has a different power transformer to be compatible with the power in other countries. The US uses 120 volts, 60 Hz. Many other parts of the world use 220 volts, 50 Hz.

Some amps (Marshall for example) have switches so you can select the right voltage for your location. Others use one transformer for the US, and a different one for export.
