Fender Princeton Recording Amp?

They've been out for a while now. I'm talking about the recording amp that runs about $1k. I'm curious ...

Anybody got one? Heard one? Opinions?

Re: Fender Princeton Recording Amp?

I played one at a local shop the other day. It is your typical ho-hum newer Fender amp. It did a lot of things, but didn't do any of them extremely well IMO. It wasn't terrible by any means, but I am not in any hurry to throw down 1000 bones on one. I guess it's a decent idea for the studio cats, but for me......no thanks.

Check out the Peavey Windsor recording amp. It has interchangeable power tubes as well as the attenuator.

+1 on what B Bent said the one I tried was good but not great, I had no GAS after playing it I think fender is banking on the name "Princeton" to sell the amp and its sound and freature second. I wouldn't pay 1K for the name Princeton. In all fairness its a good solid amp with nice features but it should only be sold for around the $500 mark (give or take a few dollars).
