Fender Supersonic?

Re: Fender Supersonic?

Personally, I think this is the first high gain amp Fender has managed to get right. The dual gain controls allow for a lot of different medium or high gain tones. I really like the cleans as well - both Vibrolux and Tweed settings are nice and sound pretty much like what their names imply. It's a pretty versatile amp all things considered.

My only complaint is the price. It's a big high considering what it is.

I like the crunches on my Super-Sonic but frankly a Prosonic will NUKE it on the crunch side! The flame throwing Prosonic might actually make some of you Boogie guys run for cover!!
It's good enough for the metal monsters of Judas Priest to use as on tour rigs!!

No s***. They have a Prosonic at Guitar Center used. I thought that I would crap my pants when I saw it sitting there in pristine condition. When I asked about it the salesman said that it was being sold! Dang!

I really dug the "burn" section on the Super-Sonic, but the Prosonic IMHO was a joke. It was a thin, fizzy, noisy mess of a high gain channel. It was as if Fender wanted to compete with the Mesa Rectos, but never actually listened to what it sounded like before putting it out on the shelvs. I give Fender props for going in that direction (it was a bold move), but the Super-Sonic to me is the first amp where Fender has really gotten really solid overdriven tones.
