Fender Treverb alert

Flint or better performance

Can anyone explain why the current trend in pedal building is selling 2-in-1 pedals that cost the same as 2 pedals?

I understand the appeal as a business man to sell them, but why are people buying them?

I think the Flint is about 10 years old.

In the trem/verb case I think it’s because they used to come together with amps in the past, so there’s several units like that.

Strymon has other units that are the same size and price but only have one effect. The other button is used for tap or favorite. Given that I would argue that in the Flint case you get an effect for free ;) these things are just very expensive.

For someone that doesn't use a lot of tremolo, I have three and tremolo in two of my amps. I got no need for another, no matter how good it is.

Just sayin' if you always wanted a Flint, but it was too expensive (and it is) the Treverb is a great substitute. At < $150 it is a steal.

Used Flints roll in at $250.

And don't get me wrong - the Flint is a really solid pedal. Hard to criticize it. If you are a Tremolo nut or Verb Nerd....yeah, it isn't going to do it for you.

But it has a nice usable range of Reverbs, and all the tremolo and more than most would ever need. Still, I never can hear the $300 for it.
