Fender Twin - Need new tubes - what to get?

Hey guys, my guitarist needs to retube his amp.
He has a 2002 Fender Twin.

I suggested Ruby tubes cause that's what I have in my Twin but I have an
'80s Twin. Pretty different from his.

From your experience, can you suggest a tube for him? He said he read good things about Tung-Sol and JJ/tesla.

Any good tube/amp matches...in this case a 2002 Fender Twin.

Thanks,
Chris

I got a set of JJs from Bob at Eurotubes.com in my Twin Reissue. It sounded fantastic!

Thanks for the reply Omni. Yeah, I've heard good things about the JJs but I've never heard a Twin (or any amp for that matter - to my knowledge) that had JJs running in it.

I got a set of JJ's in my Showman reverb, basically the head version of the twin. Sounds sweeettttt.

I'm not an expert, but I'd say either get the Fender tubes that are matched pairs, or you can go with other aftermarket brands. Honestly, I've never re-tubed yet, but if I did, I'd just go to Musiciansfriend.com and buy the top customer rated tubes in the varieties I needed. I'm going to have my amp black faced eventually so it won't matter much.
