Upon researching G&L and owning one, to me it seems like the G&L line is Fender improved. Leo had all these ideas how to make his originals even better.RiffRaff said:Not to be a d!ck or anything but Leo Fender and George Fullerton founded G&L and designed most of the models the company still manufacturers - I don't think you can claim a guitar designed by Leo Fender (Legacy, ASAT, S500) is a copy of a guitar designed by Leo Fender (Strat, Tele)....

marty_the_westie said:In a nutshell, a Strat by G & L is most likely going to be a little better built than a Fender, but the G & L is not going to hold it's value like a Fender. That is the truth. Look at what used G & L's are going for vs. Fender's, and the Fender is going to get as much as 25% higher for equal guitars.

Well, Fender was the original. The creator of that original them improved upon it.Stringmachine said:The Fender Strat was the original product, right? IMO the G&L is a copy.

The logic that the G&L is a mere copy is reminiscent of the lawsuit against John Fogerty for plagiarizing his own tune.
