This is killer. My "original" Highway One just got more valuable. :)

Cause lets face it, we all know that the new version of anything instrument related isn't as cool as the older ones. :)

Quite right mate!

Too bad they don't offer a H-H version (I know they are routed for them though) and a flatter 12" or so radius. Heck..why we are at it...how about a Floyd version.

Hwy 1 Texas teles have a 12" neck radius, vintage bridge, vintage tuners, '52 body radius, and a 5 screw pickguard. The specs are actually very close to a '52 RI (for half the price!). I haven't checked the Fender site but now I'm wondering if they offer a Hwy 1 Texas strat.

Dude... seeing as Xssive already made fun of you I'll just say it straight out.

The word is Satin. S-A-T-I-N..
:(
Seriously, no one knew how sarcastic I was being. Of course I know how to spell 'satin'. I spelled it correctly the first time if you see the first page. I just remembered on a radio show a while ago, some guy was reading about satin pillows or something and he kept pronouncing it 'Satan', intentionally. :smack:

:)

Well thanks for all the info/opinions in the thread, guys!

I love my '05 Hwy 1 strat. There's nothing cheap about it. It sounds better than a lot of american standard strats I've played.

THERE IS NO 3-BOLT NECK JOINT. Drop it already.

Thank that thin lacquer finish for that :D

I keep looking at that Daphne Blue Tele and wishing that someone around me had one in stock.
My pusher told me that the upgraded H1s won't hit the stores 'til September.

Well, that would definately explain things. :laugh2:

It would also appear that Guitar Center has raised the prices on the old models instead of waiting on the new ones. Imagine that.

Correct. I talked to a Fender Rep the other day and he said it refered to the absence of the micro-tilt adjustment in the neck pocket.

Some of these Highway Strats play and sound as good as some of the Custom shop pieces.

Speaking of the Custom Shop, my "pusher" talked me into a Classic Player Baja Tele. The Classic Player models were spec'ed out by the Custom Shop and MIM.

Though they're built south of the border, they seem to have nicer features and electronics than the H1s.

Nice piece, I have heard great things about those Teles.

Nice. I like the look of that. What do they go for?

Looks like MAP is about $800.
That doesn't seem too bad. Not far off from an Am. Standard but still, if the quality is there since the CS was involved, good deal.
