Fernandes pup ???

I've just been on the fernandes website, looking at their guitars with the sustainer pup. the thing is combined on the ravelle and the monterey with a JB and is suposed to act as a normal pup when the sustainer is desactivated.



I was wondering what you guys on the forum make of this sustainer device, and the axes? Anybody already played one?
How does it sounds as a pup? Is it a nice feature or a gadget?

i've played the sustainer before. it does pretty much what the examples show it to do, sending out little magnetic pulses that act the same as if you're constantly picking the strings, but without any kind of pick attack or pick noise. Sounds really weird. If i wasnt so cheap id probably get one, as i really do think itd make for some interesting solo ideas... i wouldnt put it on your main guitar though.

I played the sustainer on a fernandes ravelle. They are really top-notch axes, but a tad out of my price range
