Finally a Dean I like

Generally I like the Dean guitar bodies, but the headstock are just so big and ugly - but this headstock is just beautiful!

It's a Vendetta. I like the carved body, I like the string-thru, I like the single volume and tone knobs, I like the 24 frets - I even like the finish - oh, and I really like the headstock. It just looks perfect to me.

Problem is, I've never played one - I'll have to start looking around for one.

In the mean time - anyone here every played one? How does it feel?

I know if I get one, that down the road I'll probably change out the pickups - but that's easy. Finding one that looks good and plays well is the hard part.

Re: Finally a Dean I like

I wanted those a while back, they looked cool, have some nice features and I think that one has a contoured heel (either that one or the LP clone).

Re: Finally a Dean I like

Probably one of the nicer Deans I've seen.. :) Nothing outrageous, just stripped down and cool.

Re: Finally a Dean I like

Best part is...that model is $100!

really? where?

If I can find it for $100 - I'm buying it today!

And has anyone ever seen it in black (I can't find a picture). I would like the black IF it were glossy.

Nothing, but on low end guitars you run the risk of an improperly routed neck pocket, an neck that shifts, etc...

That makes sense - I guess I've been lucky - I have three low end guitars and they are all gems.

Is this something you determine - visually? I mean the improperly routed pocket...

I'm hoping to be able to find one in a store somewhere to try it out.

Re: Finally a Dean I like

i really like that headstock too, which i had that headstock on my schecters. I don't like the general shape of standard superstrat/ibanez type headstocks. I really like this, jackson and esp type headstocks

I have a Vendetta, and the neck pocket on it is super tight. I've never experienced any issues with any of the Dean's I've played.

Re: Finally a Dean I like

I considered a Vendetta 3.0 in the metallic orange copper finish. A real looker. A dealer on the Dean board was all set to give me a really sweet deal on it too when some other "real life" stuff cropped up and demanded the money I had set aside for it.

Re: Finally a Dean I like

Saw a couple of these on evilbay for $99.99 BIN price. Come over here and get one as reasonable too.

I like several including Bass and Treble, Funky Munky Music, and Music City. MC is about 20 minutes from my house. Really bad influence on a guitar addict like myself.
