Finally bought the G Major yesterday

sold some stuff, will sell more

Bought me a G MAjor just to try it. $365 out the door NEW, good price, no?

I was totally tired so I hooked it up and thought hmmm this isn't all that. Someone then says to me, no no no this sounds way more natural and unprocessed compared to your OLD units (SE70 and SGE), and much more luscious than your POD XT Live.

I guess I was tired. Came back and WOW! It's pretty amazing. THE EQ REALLY WORKS and let's the amp breathe. The Noise Gate is PERFECT. It was even decent straight into my Plexi. The Framus Dragon loved it, the Bogner Shiva ate it up!

The unit has a learning curve, but it's very effective. I have never played such a natural sounding Noise Gate and EQ. Of course the Chorus and REverb are superb and transparent. The jury is still out on the variety of delays and the filter bc I do NOT know how to use them. I have yet to find a univibe type sound.

If my goal was to simplify, this might have been the trick! It can even control an analog amp relay for channel changing!

Re: Finally bought the G Major yesterday

What are you using to control it bro? I had a G-Major awhile back and really liked it, but couldn't find a controller I dug. The G-Minor is the pits IMHO...

Re: Finally bought the G Major yesterday

I am using an old Rolls midi controller
I heard the Behringer is the way to go...

I have no will to program stuff. I will make a few patches so I have verbs, delays, a few FX here and there...

My idea was NO MORE TWEAKING. I have a good tone, just want some transparent chorus etc. I want to program the amp switching, use the Noise Gate. I have given up on continuous control for now. I might try an expression pedal.

BTW how do you like the VHT and Orange amps you own?
