Finally found a bird

I've been looking for a nice firebird for a while and stopped by local shop for their anniversary sale. This is what I walked out with:


Can't really make out the color, but it's actually green and there is pretty distinct figuring in the back and neck. Ebony board and Lollar firebird pickups.

Doug makes great guitars. He stops through the luthiers corner section of MLP that I frequent....so we all get to see a few of his creations in progress from time to time.

Kauer did a Banshee that was done up like NY's Old Black a few years ago. Played it at he Brooklyn Guitar Show, that guitar was a monster.

Are you sure that is green? If possible could you get a picture that better shows the finish? It seems like a pretty solid guitar though.

Thanks, blind luck on my part. I squeezed in a quick trip to a local shop for their anniversary party and saw it on the wall.

It looks like mine is from 2016, after the 2015 body change. The balance is just about perfect and the overall weight is better than just about any other guitar that I own.

Checked Kauer out after noticing Scott Holiday (Rival Sons) playing one. Never seen one let alone played one ... and cant afford one. I agree though. Sweet looking guitar.

I was wondering if there was a way to find it on their site. You have to hit it with a ton of light for it to look as bright as some of those pics.

First time I've seen one and I didn't pay full retail, it was used. I'll be moving a ton of stuff to recoup the cost of this one, but it's a keeper for sure.
