Finaly i don't like the Custom either !!

In my Roadstar the Jazz in neck is wonderfull and when i put the Custom in bridge i realise that i don't like those hot pickups , they produce mud and no tone at all , only noise agressive treebles and mids undefined lows ; garbage §
So i will - as a hifi pickup lover - put back the only pickup that doesn't suffer to be compared to the Jazz neck , i named the SCREAMING DEMON that kills all the tone suckers !!!! :firing: :firing: :firing: :firing: :firing: :firing:

Custom with undefined lows? How high did you have that thing set?

I have one in a Roadstar II 540 and even with the trem set flush and thick strings on (it's tuned in D) it's neither muddy nor undefined... I find it nice and solid sounding myself but to each their own

yes i tried the C5 , less distorted than the Custom , better clarity but the lack of mids make leads too thin and treebly , i wish i had an ALNICO 8 mag !
As for the custom in the same guitar than you Nuntius ( but blocked trem ), i set it reasonably high to the point it balances the Jazz in ouput .
but i can't take anymore of this "fizz" you can ear ; combination of distortion squeeling highs and unpleasant high mids .
I go to my axe to see if it related to my moods ...
