fing hard man

this one song i been trying to get perfectly, "one crow left of the murder" by incubus. its by no means a hard song to learn, but the beginning guitar riff that plays through the verses is like so hard to get perfect. there are days when i just pick up my guitar and play it note for note, at the same tempo as the song goes with no problem, but other times where i mess up so much i sound like an ass. even if i play it slow. does anyone else have this problem with any songs they can play?

Eh, I've never had much of a problem. Mind you, I'm a strong believer in warming up before I try to play anything seriously. Plus, I always start at ridiculously slow speeds when learning a song until I get it perfect, them move up to a faster tempo. If you play something fast and sloppy 100 times, number 101 isn't going to be clean and precise.
