LOL that's pretty good, LS...

Can't say I've ever been inspired by MJ, though ;).

you're forgetting Mikael Akerfeldt. That man is God.

Indeed, nice catch.

SS is so awesome! Awesome screams and great cleans, IMO.

I love his unclean vocals -- top notch agression, and personality for days (there's no mistaking him for anyone else) -- but wouldn't exactly look forward to him sitting in for a duet on "To Rid The Disease", y'know?

Swano, Alvestam, Akerfeldt... these guys could easily get work as purely clean singers. Speed, not so much. His cleans with Soilwork are fine for the context they're in, but I certainly wouldn't build a band/album around them. Even Disarmonia (which I prefer to recent Soilwork) uses other singers for that.

I wouldn't mind just one dude live - I've done and can do backup growls, so that's not a real issue...

You know who surprised me as a live backup vocalist? Adam D. When he isn't busy running all over the stage, dude pulls off pretty decent cleans, high screams, and low growls.

Been waiting for the new Disarmonia Mundi for a bit now, but Speed isn't going to be on it, I guess. :(

Last I heard he is. Unless something major happened in the last couple months...

Oh damn! Glad he's back, I seem to remember reading that he was leaving... weird.

Adam is a better vocalist than Howard for metal LOL.

Re: Finished up that Epic draft I had going

Nice.

This is much, much better than the mixes of your band's stuff you've posted before. Playing, composition, everything. This song is good regardless of who it comes from, but the fact that you're 15 and put this together hints at a lot of potential. I'd say something like "don't quit," but you're not going to. I love the semi-abrupt ending.

It's funny - I'm working on a song right now for my band that has a similar vibe - it's not nearly as epic as this track, but maybe I'll post it in a day or two when it's done.

Again, awesome job - the amount of satisfaction you feel from finishing this must be pretty good!

Re: Finished up that Epic draft I had going

that is super awesome!

not many could do something that technical; also, well arranged.

Re: Finished up that Epic draft I had going

I prefer the old singer in general, but Howard does bring a little more emotivity to the clean parts that appeals to the King's X lover in me. :)
