First 2018 Gibson I've played and want

Re: First 2018 Gibson I've played and want

Actually I want a '54 Goldtop RI in lieu of a real one, I just need to stop messing around :alcoholic

Not a fan of the color. I prefer a rustic aesthetic. But P90 Les Pauls are usually fun to fiddle around with, there's something about the tone of P90s that just gets to me.

Re: First 2018 Gibson I've played and want

I had a 2000 (possibly 1999) lp std gold top ltd at one time and it most definately had a one piece body, in fact, the grain on the back of it had a "Z" shape figuring on it.
It was a great sounding/playing guitar and was not that much more than a regular standard of the same time.
In fact out of the 5 les pauls I owned 3 were one piece bodies, ( the gold top, a custom shop les paul elegant and a 2002 lp std) my 1995 lp studio may not have been as it is sometimes tricky to tell, and the 1996 les paul ebony was black ( obviously ), so impossible to tell.

By the way, what's so awesome about the Dirty Shirley?
I'm intrigued.

It is the ultimate 70's dynamic classic rock amp, with all kinds of shades of overdrive going on using just your volume control. If you like to use the tone, volume and switches on your guitar, you can do a whole gig (of multiple styles) with no pedals. It is really that good.

Thank you! Was going to ask the same question.. How dirty (no pun intended) does it get?? Alot of gain on tap? Or pretty much just in the 70's classic rock vein? Thanks

N/m looked it up.. Looks like its 70s style cuz its based on JTM45

Yeah, it is a totally 70s style amp- actually, it is the ideal 70s amp...they sound better than any Marshall I've ever heard.

Re: First 2018 Gibson I've played and want

That guitar is blue. After 45 years of being in the guitar world, one tends to be able to discern such things.

However, this is the internet, and I am certain that someone will point out that internet wisdom will prove that that guitar is actually red.

Thanks a bunch I say sky blue wife says peacock I'm on the couch divorce next week
