First Female Friendly Guitar?

Re: First Female Friendly Guitar?

I don't see how that's any better than any shape already out there.
Except for this one black metal one I once saw for sale at a flea market 15 or so years ago whose body was wrapped in rusty barbed wire.
With some dark discoloration on it.

Annie never designed the guitar exclusively for females,” says Sterling Ball, the CEO and one of the lead designers at Ernie Ball Music Man (EBMM). “While it’s true that there has never been a major-market solid-body guitar in the history of it to be designed by a woman, none of us saw gender in creating this

Well, that's certainly good to know.
I might keep my stock.

Re: First Female Friendly Guitar?

Like I said, a truncated ML.
Hey, if you like it, I have no problem with that. I don't even care that it's marketed to women.
I just don't see how it's that much more comfortable.
An Explorer would be about the same.

Re: First Female Friendly Guitar?

Well, I'll have to Explore and Explorer. That's why I started that thread about diff guitars. Purely selfless to learn what I wanted to!!

Re: First Female Friendly Guitar?

Looks mighty uncomfortable for anyone with significant mammaries (female or otherwise), if I dare say so myself, there's a pointy thing protruding where the cleavage might go

....not that it would be much of an issue for whoever the heck this chick is.

Selfless?
Oh, now that's something that I can relate to.

Re: First Female Friendly Guitar?

I think some of the marketing around this guitar is hyperbole, but the guitar itself has a fine design.

I have played a few. The experience isn't that exotic. It's sort of like a small bolt-on version of an Explorer with mini humbuckers. I'm surprised by the claims of engineering for balance, because the strap button placement puts the neck way out like an SG, though the shape and perhaps the metal of the vibrato bridge help prevent neck dive.

Re: First Female Friendly Guitar?

Conventional guitar shapes already match conventional female shapes perfectly:

'Nuff said. This is the same nonsense that launched Daisy Rock guitars. I'm not knocking the equipment. (I love my Daisy Rock Classic with Slash AII Pro's.) I'm knocking the marketing.

I always thought that looked more like something reminiscent of, uh, MALE anatomy... not that it ain't situated in a perfectly good location for that in said pic

Re: First Female Friendly Guitar?

Yeah, Daisy Rock did it, then Luna Guitars. I think Gibson also did it with their 'Goddess' series. I love my Music Man guitars, but that St V guitar is really hideous to me.

Re: First Female Friendly Guitar?

I believe I alluded to the fact that male and female anatomy matched perfectly. What's your point? :friday:

That the Fender J shape especially looks like a magnum richard in such frames.... maybe that's why the girlie appears so excited while staring at it intently?

I so tried to take that back before someone caught it. :smack:

As long as we're here, how about a shout out to Tal Wilkenfeld. Bass player extraordinaire.

Nope much too late.

Let your inner perv flag fly proud, no use being in denial --- people don't JUST collect and download Enquirer-esque pics with enlarged to show texture zoomed frames by accident, after all
