First guitar is progressing

Got all the scary parts of my Tele build done.

Neck is a reinforced Musikraft made from quartersawn maple, fretboard is reclaimed from Coney Island board ( 100 year old Brazilian walnut). SS Frets.

Body is white mahogany.

Mostly spare hardware I have laying around is going in it. Wilkerson bridge and Bootstrap Pretzel pickups.

There is a gap around the neck pocket (looks worse in the picture than it actually is) that should be just fine once I get it finished. Plan now is white doghair stain with a matte clear coat.

Any questions?

Forgot to mention, the body came out pretty prefect in that every error I could make was fixed without visual indication except one of the through holes for the strings ended up *slightly crooked. I can probably fix it because I haven't drilled for the ferules yet

I haven't weighed it yet, but the full body blank was a little over 8 pounds. It's a very light body. The neck isn't too far from average in terms of weight, but it's also on the lighter side

It's looking very good so far.

It's interesting that you said that the..."body blank was a little over 8 pounds. It's a very light body." My entire completed guitar builds including neck, hardware, and finish are right at 6 pounds.

That's the ideal weight for me (or lighter).

With the body routed out, it's about 5 lbs. Don't know exactly where that lands for a Tele. Neck is a little heavier than I'm used to for maple
