It was a good idea in my head, but it's just too much gold. I'll use the covers on something else.

This is what I'm going to go with. Too bad I don't have some black pickups with some gold poles and screws. I think that would look pretty sharp. Actually, I do have some Gibson pickups I pulled out of a V and Explorer with gold screws around here somewhere.

Nice. Leave the gold hardware but use black screws instead.

Do you some cream pickup rings or knobs? Or all-cream pickups? That'd be neat to see. I like gold hardware in general, but I'm thinking some more cream would help to tie in the color of the neck with the rest of the guitar. For some reason the snakeskin + gold + maple neck isn't sitting well as a combination, while the neck + snakeskin does... as does the snakeskin + gold. It'd also be neat to see a rosewood board with the gold hardware, snakeskin, and zebra pickups. This is not a critique - just thinking out loud

Well, cream rings with gold, or gold rings with black maybe. But gold tuners and everything else.

I blinged my $1000 SG out with $300 worth of gold hardware recently and a girl at a gig thought it was a $4000 guitar. See how that works?
