Well, I dropped by Nick Garrett's Studio last evening with my wife, kids and, oh yes, guitar. Nick has been following the progress and was eagerly anticipating the chance to play it. Check out info on Nick and his band here: http://www.garageband.com/artist/NGB
After playing unplugged for a few minutes and getting tuned and comfortable, He plugged it into a small fender practice amp and started wringing it out. Man did it sound great. He played many styles, blues, classical, Incubus, Punk. With all three pickups on and amp on overdrive, the Incubus blew me away. He has some free time in his studio in a few weeks and we are going to get together for him to really put it through its paces and record a few things. I will post the sound clips.
In General, the guitar has lots of bottom and a kind of woody tone quality but plenty of sustain (despite all those magnets). The Phat Cat is great by itself or in combination with the others. The high notes really sing. .
Glad to hear it sounds as good as it looks! Any further feedback on the middle pickup being/not being in the way of picking? I don't mean to be a pest, but the information would be very valuable to me for my upcoming project.

I had the pickups too high and it was in the way. I lowered it considerably and it still has the same great sound. I am not a hard picker though. You might try taking a piece of wood about as thick as your neck pickup is from the guitar to the top of the pickup and tape it in place in the middle.
