The other thread about the value of overseas-made guitars got me thinking and took me on a trip down memory lane. I found this pic online of my first electric-the Samick “scandal.”
I don’t even remember how much it was. But like $300 or so. A whole summer’s worth of mowing lawns in about ‘92 or so.
samick’s version of the Ibanez S series. Bound fretboard, painted headstock, and a scarf joint heel. Incredible features for peanuts—just a few years before Korean guitars were expensive mid-level guitars, and they were still the cheapies.
Then a year or two later I traded it in for a used charvette that had a jt6 licensed floyd (and the white/red/black splatter paint job).
