Re: First person I recorded other than myself!

The acoustic guitar needs just a little more bass. It sounds like the singer is blowing into the mic in a few places. And the vocals need to be brought out a little more. Over all I liked it.

I had the same problem with the SM57 and vocals. I got one of those big rings with the pantyhose material across it and it totally solved that problem.

Nice job :) I would put a little mid scoop on the guitars to give the vocals a little more room to breathe.

The pantyhose trick is great...I personally boost the gain of my mic a little and have the vocalist stand roughly 6 - 12 inches from the mic...but that all depends on what kind of mic that you have.

I like the mix, keep up the great work :) Just try to pull out the click track from Cubase ;) lol

Pop filter. AFAIK, it keeps your track from reaching the top 40.

Nice job. Acoustic was a little thin but a nice recording man. I was waiting for a full blown band to come in. Tell her that song would sound great with a band imo. She has a great tone to her voice but (like me) she should sing more from her diaphram as it sounds a bit nasaly. I think if she sings with a bit more power she'll sound soooo good.

Re: First person I recorded other than myself!

what language was she singing in? I didn't understand a word of that

Great quality for mic straight in to a computer!
