Is it best to record a single bass track, or record a couple with differing tones to get a fuller sound?

I use a Tech 21 Sans Amp.

I like to record the same performance on two tracks: one direct bypassing any treatment and one going through the Sans Amp's treatment. Blending the two has given good results.
