First Song in Many Years

Well I finally finished (well its kinda finished I'll probably remix it as there are some places with odd volume differences) my first tune in about 15 years. I really enjoy recording and songwriting along with playing guitar. The song "Straight Up" is a mix of rock, blues and country. I can't say I am really good at playing any of them but I sure love to play. I grew up playing 80s hair flare stuff but I sure like the sound of the Tele and strat.

Any suggestions are always appreciated.

Really cool stuff and nice playing. Tones are very cool, and oddly relaxing. The only thing I didn't like was it sounded like a ride cymbal with a tremelo or something on it through a lot of the song coming out of the left side. After awhile it became annoying and took away from the guitar work. It stopped at around 1:45. The trem on the guitars was great. I enjoyed it, thanks for posting.

Beautiful sounds. I love the ideas also - great sounding tune.

One constructive suggestion i have is to work on your timing - to play a lot tighter to the beat. To get your whole body into the music and really nail the downbeats.

Hey - thanks for all the suggestions. I definitely will try to work on my timing - it has never been a strong point. Hell you should see me dance :0). I did notice a couple of sections of lead where I think I started to lag a bit.

The ride cymbal may have been mixed too loud....I'll have another go at the mix sometime or could put in another "loop" to take down the ride cymbal in some of the sections.
