Fishman Fluence Pups

I was listening to these the other day and the whole technology and idea behind them sounds really interesting. No copper so there are no anomalies, making for a a more consistent and clean/noiseless sound. The fact that they have two voicings plus coil tap, so 4 potential sounds from one pickup. That sounds amazing! As I heard they sound good, but somehting is just off to me. Like without character. I just would like to know what you guys think of these pickups? Just for the sake of discussion.

I have two sets from the signature series, the KSE and the Willie Adler (lamb of god guitarist). They are modern sounding pups and in my opinion they are more suited for metal. I like them because I have an option of using a single coil sound in my clean tone and the fluence is great for that because there is zero hum. Regarding the lack of character, that's true. Fluence pups have a clear, clean and consistent sound, not everybody will like that. Some people prefer to have some imperfections which gives character to the sound of the pups.
