has anyone used one? im tired of dragging around a pa for little acoustic duo gigs. the other half already has one and i can get one for about $200 in brand new shape.

we dont need much sound reinforcement and for anything that does we have a big pa. do these little beasts cut it? ive played thru one quickly and it didnt sound half bad, just wondering if anyone has more experience with one.

Jeremy... the Mini RULEZ ALL!!!

LOL... I got mine a few weeks ago to do my solo acoustic gigs and it's been awesome. SO clear and realistic. SO powerful for such a tiny, light box. I played in the courtyard of a large art museum this past Friday and I did bring one of my 1X15 powered PA cabs to run my Mini into, because I was worried about filling that large of a space. I needn't have worried! That little amp did awesome. In fact, I'm either going to buy a second for a spare, or just get the Artist just in case I want a bigger one. But I certainly didn't need anything bigger. I REALLY love this little amp and it's the best $270 amp (new, MF promo) I've ever bought. Also sounds great doing jazz with a hollowbody jazz box running into it.

I recorded this arrangement last night both acoustically and using the Mini.

BTW... I took the big Roland (AC90) home for a few days before I ordered the Loudbox and ended-up taking the Roland back. The Mini is much more natural sounding to my ears, and it doesn't hurt that it's LIGHTER and smaller by a mile. My local shop ended-up getting the Fishman line after I kept raving about it.

I played through the fishman loudbox performer (discontinued) for a couple years straight doing acoustic gigs.

Fantastic amp. DI features. If the mini is anything like the loudbox performer, do it.

Re: fishman loudbox mini

sounds good so far. i love the idea of it and for 200 beans if it means i dont need to haul big heavy ass 15's around im sold!

Yup. Just get it up on a chair and you're good-to-go. I've got a small restaurant acoustic gig in a few weeks and I'm not even gonna load-up my PA cabs. It's in a town an hour away though... so I admit that I'm a bit nervous about not having a spare/backup for that. I may try to pick another one up before then.

Have any of you tried the fishman aura pedal imaging products? Fantastic.

I took one of them home last year, but the Baggs Para Acoustic DI that I also had just sounded much better, so the Aura got returned. But I can't remember which pedal it was and I'm sure they're great.

Re: fishman loudbox mini

I just had one for repair.
I was kind of impressed how well it sounded with a standard Telecaster.
If it is in good shape, I would say 200 is worth a try.
For small "gigs", home play, and recording, these things are a great tool. Plug a mic into it and see what you think.
I think you will be happy/impressed at what a useful tool it is to have available.
Best
