But that's not what he said before. He said to move the whole bridge back. Doing that will increase the overall scale length on the guitar and your strings will not be in tune when you fret the notes. If you moved the whole bridge back, you would have to replace the neck to compensate for the long scale length that moving the bridge back would cause. Furthermore, moving the saddle back that drastically on the B string will again cause fretting issues.

But nobody in their right mind would move something back then not compensate the saddles forward for the strings that didn't need it......well, unless you are in the habit of playing vastly poorly intonated guitars, or you don't bother to adjust saddles and you just assume everyone else does as well.

I have tuned my Epi Explorer 24.75" scale down to B before, it intonated just fine, nothing out of the ordinary, completely stock bridge and nut. Pups are different.

( I do think that this particular guitar was built on a Wednesday if ya know what I mean)
