Floyd rose II question

I'm building a Frankenstein of sorts and it has a single locking floyd rose ii on it. I'm planning on blocking it so I dont really have the desire to replace it with an OFR. My question is this....is the base plate the same? I would like to put a bigger sustain block on it but want to make sure a regular floyd rose block with fit. Does anyone know? I would suspect that it's the same but not sure.

Re: Floyd rose II question

What do you mean single locking FR II? Single locking refers to the presence/absence of nut lock or saddle lock. It's a good trem, in my Kramer 210 which came stock with FR II (with locking nut), I get lots of sustain. Never had a problem with this dept.

Some of the older floyd rose II's were string through and did not lock at the bridge.....hence the term "single locking" it only locks at the nut.

Re: Floyd rose II question

They were a lower priced version of the Schaller trem. They work fine. Plus, the OFR sustain blocks are an easy swap.

There were 3 or 4 different units called FRII, including a double locking Schaller, a single locker, and a suspect and allegedly crappy Ping product
