Floyd rose special for shaller

Re: Floyd rose special for shaller

I have had not experience with the Grover Floyd but I can attest to the quality and stability of the Gotoh Floyd which is by far my favorite, irrelevant of price.

Second choice would be an OFR (Special would be acceptable although not the same), third would be the first Schaller-designed unit (including the various OEM-branded units) which is good enough but noticeably not-as-good as the other two.

The second Schaller-branded unit i.e. the Lockmeister is AFAIC for all intends and purposes a Schaller-branded OFR and stands right next to it, although I understand it is actually priced higher than an OFR for whatever reason.

All that said, it is not an especially expensive guitar so I wouldn't want to sink too much money towards upgrades unless it is an especially good guitar or is meant to be a father-son upgrade project (kinda like how car restorations used to be)

Lastly, block-wise, I am a big fan of the big brass block so it really matters little to me what the stock block was since I always replace it with a brass one (unless the unit already came with it pre-installed).

You sure about that? The Schaller unit is roughly half the price of the OFR at Thomann.
