For the Strat lover...

Re: For the Strat lover...

They replaced the Squire logo with Fender, and added the 'reborn' part... but other that it's pretty nice. A bit too flashy for me though.

Re: For the Strat lover...

seems to me that doing that to a guitar would really effect the tone in a negative way.

I had a metal pickguard on a strat once and it made the tone suck, even with duncans in it. I think Gearjoneser and i have had this same expirience. maybe he will post in here about it.

Re: For the Strat lover...

yeah that wld be obvoius kind a ICE PICKy right? Thats why I said I wld use APS flats with it.

Re: For the Strat lover...

it didn't turn it ice picky but it just seemed to suck the sound of the wood out of the tone it was very bland and the body didn't resonante like it should. i would like to hear one of the guitars that they are making out of metal and metal coverings just to see if it sounds roughly the same.

Re: For the Strat lover...

I was thinking that maybe raising the action and using it exclusively for slide would be cool.

Kind of like a weird take on an electric dobro. :burnout:

Re: For the Strat lover...

That's kind of cool for an art project. If that frilly, cowboy stuff is your thing then maybe this would be cool. I do however like how they engraved the actual make/model right on the headstock next to the "Fender." No misrepresentation there.

Aluminum accually gives the BEST acoustic tone to my ears. Better than any wood I have ever heard. It does not really give you the "ice pick" tone you would think. The tone is accually REALLY warm and complex. The resonance last for days too. The aluminum holds the vibrations alot longer than wood. Aluminum is just so damn expensive these days, cost is really high on aluminums.
