I use practically the entire Maguire line when refinishing, and Instant Detail is a definite alternative to guitar Polish if the axe isn´t grimy and sweaty..... I personally prefer to have a cleaning agent in my polish as well for those reasons. But on a clean axe that´s just "dull", it will definitely work miracles

my guitar got some nasty scratches at the back (but not that deep) and i'm not sure if dunlop formula 65 can "hide" those ugly scratches.

sand out with 800 grit wet, then 1000 wet, then 1500 wet, then finish with a fine scratch removing compound.

whoa. i don't think i can ever do that to my guitar. i guess i'll just polish it and then pretend it's relic'ed or something
